This is an amazing and unique book. It is a Christian science fiction novel about youth in parallel universes, who somehow have gotten into communication with each other by email. The entire story is told from the point of view of the youths themselves, through the technique of presenting just the text of their email exchanges.

About the Chest of Visions

Can you imagine receiving e-mails from a different planet? Welcome to "The Chest of Visions" by Tim Ferguson where e-mail messages are shared between youth on Earth and a young man, Mattpaul, residing in the parallel universe's world of Caperston.

​

Mattpaul lives in a world where there is no concept of the existence of a God, a Caring Creator. As a result, although his world has order, it does not have justice. There are Mountain People, who for generations have been deemed inferior by their neighboring Valley People.

​

Mattpaul meets a prophet, who brings the concept of an "unseen ruler" to Caperston, who can be perceived via a new activity- prayer. The prophet also calls out for equality amidst the Mountain and Valley People.

​

The actual chest of visions provides hope for Caperston's future. Will Mattpaul and his friends cling to this hope? Will the division between the Mountain people and the Valley people be broken down?

​

How will earth youth grow spiritually from their correspondence with Caperston youth? A vision of heaven helps answer one of the books perplexing questions, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
